As many as 50,000 visitors could descend on the small Scandinavian nation to attend the two week long conference. 25 years ago today, a gas cloud escaped from a factory in Bhopal, India. The poison killed thousands of people in a disaster that continues to blight the city today. Union Carbide agreed to a compensation deal worth nearly five hundred million dollars. But campaigners are still demanding that the current owner, Dow Chemical, clean up Bhopal and admit full responsibility for the leak. The BBC’s Alan Little has just been there. He says that while 25 years may have passed, the tragedy continues to dominate the lives of those who live in the city.

I have never heard such an articulate and knowledgeable description of the “prosperity gospel” vis a vis orthodox Christianity, modern culture, and historical understandings of the Christian faith as the one expounded today by Hannah Rosen. Excellent job! Thank you!
