  • I just heard the report on dolphins, Japan, etc. The story was far too melodraamatic. Everybody wants to weep for the cute animals (dolphins, manatees, chimps). 1)Consider- Robin Young probably likes her BBQ, but does she exhibit similar distaste when her culture herds millions of swine to their deaths? So why can’t Japanese kill and eat dolphins? If you’ve ever raised a pig, you know they are as smart as a dog, very personable. 2) Also- the news of the dolphin cove in Japan was not new and has been reported for years. Maybe this movie is more substantial, but the shock and surprise are nonsense. 3) Dolphins have never been used to detect landmines. 4) Though Buddhism did originate in India (actually, Lumpini is now part of Nepal), it is generally a Hindu country as is the tradition of sacred cows. By the way, I am a hunting Theravada Buddhist who kills and eats mostly wild meat

I don’t eat bbq, or red meat

I did ask “if one country can slaughter its cows, why can’t another slaughter its dolphins”.

Okay I’m outta here! This is a place for your opinions,
I hope you listen to the piece if you haven’t already,

  • I haven’t heard anything about pigs being contaminated by mercury. Dolphins are very high on the food chain. So that is one reason to be shocked, that the Japanese government is allowing this meat to be sold without identifying it as Dolphin.
