Listener comments
  • The addict on Here And Now’s Addiction in America spoke of the role his parents played in his addiction. He said he felt unloved, and that contributed to his susceptability to addiction.

What about the millions of children who see their parents for 2 hours a day, and the rest of their waking hours are spent with people who truly do not love them, and cannot even be reasonably expected to love them? I agree that the lack of love in a child’s life is traumatic and abusive.

I wonder how many people would concur with that idea, yet continue to leave their vulnerable children to spend almost all of their childhoods in the care of people who don’t love them… I think more parents need to consider the possible damage that a childhood without love can cause.

  • The story on addiction was compelling, but I’d like to note a comment of bias by the reporter, who regarding sex addiction, stated that it could be used to justify the behavior of “philandering men.” Those familiar with sex addiction realize that a significant proportion of this cohort is female. So, it highly likely that it could used as a rationale for behavior by “philandering men” or “slutty women.”

  • Thank you for Payday Lending and Daniel Brook’s “The Trap”

This is clearly predatory lending. Just what caused the current depression.

The supreme cout ruling referred to should be over turned. It basically takes Michigan money from Michigan at usurious rates. That money should be buying shoes and pizza locally.

While we’re at it we need to change the bankruptcy laws back to pre CHENY-BUSH-BANK.

Let’s show some compassionate conservatism by not kicking the helpless when they’re down financially.

    Thank you Great Show
