Oscar-winning actor Benicio Del Toro produces and stars in the new four-hour-plus epic “Che.” The film is in two parts: the first tells the story of guerilla fighter Che Guevara’s role in the overthrow of Cuban leader Fulgenacio Batista, the second follows Che after he disappears from Cuba and reappears in Bolivia to continue the revolution. We speak with Del Toro about the film and the continuing appeal of Che Guevara.

I heard the interview about Che’s life and found it repulsive.
You fawn over a would be dictator of the proletariat because he was a poet and “cared about poor people.”
So did Stalin, in fact Satlin wrote some pretty good poetry in Georgian and loved the arts all his life. Should we offer Stalin as a role model to the young idealists also?
btw: I am told that the recent superb biography about Stalin called “Young Stalin” will become a film soon. I hope so, at least the author: Sebarg Montefiore doesn’t glorify his actions. He describes Stalins love of the arts along with self centerdness and sadism. He holds nothing back.
This is the kind of biography and film about Che we need.
