In 2006, Army Staff Sergeant Travis Strong lost both his legs during an explosion while on patrol in Baghdad. Today, he is spending his first Christmas in a home in Golden, Colorado built and presented to him for free by “Homes for Our Troops,” a non-profit Massachusetts based group that uses donations and volunteer labor to construct specially adapted homes for severely injured veterans. We talk with Travis Strong, his wife Misty and with John Gonsalves, founder and director of “Homes for Our Troops.”
