GOP Party

The Republican Party convention really got going last night, with speeches from President Bush, Democratic Senator Joe Lieberman, and Presidential candidate Fred Thompson. We’ll take stock of what they said and look ahead to Alaska Governor Sarah Palin’s speech scheduled for this evening. Our guest is Linda Feldmann, White House and political correspondent for the Christian Science Monitor.

Democracy Now! Arrests

Producers from the alternative public radio show Democracy Now! were arrested Monday as they covered the anti-war protests on the streets of St. Paul during the Republican National Convention. When host Amy Goodman asked to speak to the police, she was arrested as well. Goodman and her producers have since been released, and we caught up with Goodman not long after her release.
