We speak with filmmaker, Irene Taylor Brodsky, whose film “Hear and Now” premieres on HBO this week. Irene’s parents, Paul and Sally Taylor, who were both born deaf, decided at the age of 65 to get cochlear implants to help them hear. Her film is an intimate, often painful look at their lives before, during, and after the surgery.
